Introduction to Akave
The Filecoin network has thousands of storage providers and EiBs of capacity, but has yet to achieve wide user adoption. Filecoin ecosystem leads from Protocol Labs have taken the opportunity to address the biggest pain points of using decentralized storage by building a data management layer that abstracts away the complexities of the underlying technology.
Akave is a modular and decentralized data management layer 2 that offers an object store, powered by ZK-SNARKs. This data layer unlocks tiered and optimized storage for edge compute and decentralized AI workloads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Software Expansion: Strategically expand and refine software functionalities to enhance performance and user engagement.
- Innovation in Technology: Pioneer the adoption of new technologies, focusing on developments within the Decentralized Storage sphere.
- Team Leadership: Cultivate and lead a rapidly expanding engineering team, ensuring that team dynamics and growth align with business needs.
- Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with executive leadership to ensure product and development strategies are perfectly aligned.
Requirements:
- Software Engineering Experience: Proven background in hands-on coding and advanced software development, with a robust understanding of software engineering principles.
- Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in Go programming language; familiarity with AWS, Typescript, and Angular is advantageous.
- Leadership in Technology Teams: Demonstrated experience in managing and expanding technology teams, ideally within the Decentralized Storage or DeFi sectors.
- Strategic Industry Experience: Experience with trading software is preferred, especially platforms dealing with crypto and DeFi innovations.
- Ethical Foundation: A strong commitment to integrity and excellence.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Programming Languages: Proficient with modern programming languages such as golang, TypeScript, JavaScript, Rust, java, Scala, Erlang, Clojure, or C++.
- Version Control: Mastering of Git, GitHub, and Gitflow.
- System Design: Fluent with REST API design and development, experienced with distributed systems.
- Experience with storage systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with AWS S3 and S3-compatible interfaces.
- Messaging Architectures: Solid understanding of messaging architectures and technologies, such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.
- Security: Significant experience building secure applications.
- Database Knowledge: Strong knowledge of SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL and familiarity with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Solr/ElasticSearch, or Cassandra.
- Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud computing providers such as Amazon Web Services.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills on both technical and non-technical issues; exceptional leadership capabilities, emphasizing emotional intelligence and effective talent management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
