Orca is looking for an experienced Product Designer to shape the future of decentralized finance (DeFi). In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive design for cutting-edge products in the fast-evolving world of DeFi. We’re seeking candidates who have experienced that pivotal “light bulb moment” in DeFi, whether you’re just beginning your journey or already deeply immersed in the space.

This role offers the opportunity to take on more ownership of projects as you grow within the company, driving projects by owning the design process, and making design decisions that align with business and product objectives. We’re looking for someone who’s eager to get deeply embedded with our team and culture and play a key role in Orca’s success.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate within a dynamic team to design new products and features for web and mobile, while enhancing and optimizing existing user experiences.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineers throughout the product lifecycle, from ideation through production, contributing to user research, testing, design reviews, and QA to ensure high-impact, goal-aligned experiences.
  • Design with a holistic product vision, aligning each feature with the broader product ecosystem to create a cohesive, seamless user experience.
  • Use an iterative design approach to continuously refine and optimize flows based on user feedback and data insights.
  • Prepare clear and organized design files and documentation, enabling engineers and stakeholders to confidently navigate and understand design requirements.
  • Engage in regular design reviews, seeking and integrating specific feedback to enhance design quality.
  • Create user-centered designs that balance business objectives, user needs, and technical constraints.
  • Contribute to user research and usability testing alongside UX Researchers and PMs to identify product opportunities and guide design decisions.
  • Experiment and innovate, exploring new possibilities to advance DeFi design and set Orca’s products apart.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of professional Product Design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ****design work, including ideation, prototyping, user testing, and production.
  • Strong understanding of DeFi, blockchain, and Web3 concepts is preferred; a passion for learning and contributing to the space is essential. Familiarity with smart contracts, wallet interactions, or DeFi protocols is a plus.
  • Proven experience designing consumer-facing experiences for both web and mobile platforms; fintech or web3 experience is a bonus.
  • Excellence in user-centered and visual design principles with a meticulous approach to handling edge cases and outliers.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale.
  • Proficiency in Figma for creating detailed prototypes and design documentation.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Collaborative and low-ego team player who thrives in a cross-functional team with engineers, product managers, and researchers.
